Gardaí say that a man aged in his 30s has been arrested after an aggravated burglary in County Cork.
The shocking incident saw three men break into a house in the Lagan Grove area of Cork city early this morning.
According to Gardaí, the three men were armed with implements, and confronted the residents inside before they left.
One of the residents was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment of injuries which Gardaí have described as non-threatening.
A man aged in his 30s was arrested at the scene in connection with the break-in.
Gardaí have appealed to witnesses to come forward.
