A person has died following a rush-hour crash on a busy stretch of Auckland’s southern motorway this morning.
Emergency services were called to the crash near the Te Irirangi on-ramp at around 7.50am.
Police said a vehicle veered off the motorway and collided with the left-hand barrier.
“Sadly, a man was pronounced deceased at the scene,” police said.
The left northbound lane was blocked, and the northbound on-ramp was closed. Both have since reopened.
The serious crash unit was at the scene, and enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
