A Federal Court judge has found that Apple and Google’s dominance of the app market is anticompetitive in a partial victory for Epic Games, the maker of video game Fortnite, which has been locked in a five-year global battle with the two tech giants.
Epic Games chief executive Tim Sweeney has been fighting a series of antitrust cases against Apple and Google in Australia, the UK and the US, alleging they exploit the dominance of their respective app stores by mandating expensive fees that breach consumer rights.
