He spent £139,971 on items from a variety of shops, including luxury purchases from retailers such as Montblanc, Fortnum and Mason and Molton Brown.
A 119-page schedule listing his purchases included £2,618 on salt and pepper grinders from Lalique, more than £3,000 on a robotic lawnmower, nearly £2,600 on a coffee machine and £240 on two women’s umbrellas.
However, Ms Sturgeon vehemently denied that she knew that her husband was using SNP money to fund the purchases. She denied knowing about the motorhome before it was confiscated, and said she thought Murrell had bought other items using his own money.
In response to questions about Mr Quinn’s claims, Ms Sturgeon’s lawyers did not contest that the Dunfermline visit in 2022 had taken place.
However, they reiterated that she had no knowledge of the motorhome until the police action the following year.
It is understood that the vehicle was parked between Mrs Murrell’s home and that of her neighbours. Sources claimed that it would not be obvious which property the motorhome belonged to and that it might not have been visible if Mrs Murrell’s bungalow was approached from the front.
