A GANG of men armed with knives and bottles of what is believed to be chemicals burst into a County Limerick pub in a “targeted attack”, Limerick Live has learned.
The shocking incident occurred on Sunday afternoon in a pub in West Limerick while many patrons were dining.

It is understood that a number of men were brandishing knives and had bottles of liquid which is believed to be chemical in nature.
It is thought they were looking for one person in the bar in the “targeted attack”. However, this man fled the scene on foot and made good his escape. The background to the incident is not known.
No injuries have been reported and there was no damage caused in the bar.
“It was over in a matter of seconds but it was a shocking thing to happen on a Sunday afternoon. People were watching the camogie final on the telly,” said one source.
Gardai have launched an investigation and have increased mobile patrols in West Limerick.
CCTV is being harvested by detectives and uniformed officers. Gardai have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
They ask that anybody who may have seen any suspicious activity between 4.30pm and 5.30pm in the wider Rathkeale, Askeaton, Cappagh and Ardagh areas – and has dash-cam footage – to come forward.
