Last Wednesday, the IDF announced that the whole of southern Lebanon is now a “combat zone” and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel was “deepening” its presence in the country in order to ensure the safety and security of northern Israel. But few Israeli news outlets bothered to report about a grave threat the premier received from his ultra-Orthodox coalition partners. Those that did, such as Ynet, Israel’s most popular news outlet, chose to keep the nature of the threat out of the headline.
