A gun has been fired at Australia’s busiest airport as police arrested a man in one of its terminals.
Australian Federal Police said the police gun was fired before the man was apprehended on Wednesday morning at Sydney Airport.
There were no injuries and no ongoing threat to the public, the AFP said.
A crime scene has been set up as an investigation continues.
Charges have not yet been laid.
The airport was now operating normally, Sydney Airport said in a statement.
Sydney was Australia’s busiest airport, handling more than 40 million passengers a year, according to data from the federal transport department.
