‘How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ Actress Stuns During Music Festival Appearance originally appeared on Parade.
The first-ever Up in the Sky Festival took place in Buttermilk, Aspen, CO, this past weekend, with headlining performances from Rüfüs Du Sol, Kacey Musgraves and Glass Animals, as well as sets from SG Lewis, Suki Waterhouse, Glass Beams, ROLE MODEL, Nessa Barrett and Jensen McRae.
During his tour and live performances, ROLE MODEL has a tradition of bringing out a special guest to join him during the bridge for his song “Sally, When The Wine Runs Out.” On Saturday, he surprised fans by inviting Hudson onstage to be his “Sally” and dance alongside him.
The actress jumped around and danced on stage, wearing a pink satin midi dress and a pair of cowgirl boots. Her hair was tied up into a messy bun and acessorized the look with a bold necklace and a pair of gold dangling earrings.
On Monday, the How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days star posted the experience on her Instagram, including multiple photos with ROLE MODEL, candid shots of her on stage and the TikTok of her lip-syncing to the hit song “You’re So Vain” by Carly Simon with the 28-year-old singer.
“Call me Sally,” Hudson wrote as her caption.
The unexpected duo sent fans into a frenzy online, and they were very excited and quick to react to Hudson’s post on social media.
“Dare i say the best sally yet!??” a fan commented.
One wrote, “my fav romcom girl 🫂🫂🫂💗.”
“Some things are evergreen, like Kate Hudson singing, wearing a silk dress, and being a band aid. ❤️,” one fan said.
“this is so important to me,” wrote The Voice alumni Tori Templet.
“Best Sally yet @katehudson,” another fan wrote. “excuse me while I go watch Almost Famous for the nine millionth time!!!!! 💗.”
ROLE MODEL even joined the conversation, commenting “sallyyyyYyyy” an hour after the 46-year-old actress shared the photos.
Hudson currently stars in the Netflix comedy series Running Point, which was released this past February. The show, executive produced by Mindy Kaling, follows Isla Gordon (Hudson), as she navigates the challenges of running a professional basketball team. Hudson is best known for her roles in many early 2000s romantic comedies, including Almost Famous, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Fool’s Gold and Bride Wars.
Meanwhile, ROLE MODEL has been the opening act for some of Gracie Abrams’ shows on her second North American leg of The Secret of Us Tour. He is set to perform on Tuesday at the Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO and in Mexico City in two weeks.
