A man in his 20s has died following a swimming accident in a river in Co Kerry.
The man was swimming in the River Flesk in Killarney at around 3.30pm yesterday afternoon when he got into difficulty.
Emergency services were alerted and the man was removed from the water.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem examination is due to take place, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
It is understood gardaà are treating the incident as an accident.
