A 39-year-old man is facing charges following an alleged sexual assault at a south London shopping mall.
Two women were sitting on a bench inside White Oaks Mall at around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday when an unknown man approached them to make conversation. He then sexually assaulted one of them, police said.
Neither of the women was injured, and they left the area to call the police.
The man was arrested on Sunday and remains in police custody. He is expected to appear in London court on Tuesday.
This was the second sexual assault charge laid by police over the weekend. Another woman was assaulted downtown on Thursday and a 51-year-old man was charged. He is also expected to appear in court Tuesday.
