Russian troops are reportedly withdrawing from the Kinburn Spit.
The Kinburn Spit, you may recall, is that narrow sliver of a treeless sandbar that juts out into the bay at the delta of the Dnipro River. It commands the approach to the river and offers a great place from which to launch artillery and other strikes at the nearby cities of Mykolaiv and Odesa.
The spit is at the western end of the Kinburn peninsula. There are some reports that suggest Russia is also withdrawing from the peninsula.
However, seeing as how it has no cover it is a nightmare to try to defend. And without regular resupply there was no way Russia could hang onto it. Given the difficult geography, it is unlikely that Ukraine will try to reoccupy and hold the spit now.
According to the movement, units of Russia’s 337th Brigade have begun abandoning positions on the Kinburn Spit after supply lines were effectively cut, halting the delivery of ammunition, fuel, and food.
“Due to significant personnel losses, units of the 337th Brigade are being withdrawn from the coastline—specifically from the northern and western parts of the spit. Fire teams are unable to cope with shooting down Ukrainian defense forces’ UAVs, and casualties continue to mount,” the statement read.
According to ATESH, part of the brigade’s personnel had previously been redeployed to the Zaporizhzhia direction, leaving the remaining units critically understaffed. The group claimed that no replenishment of manpower had been carried out.
ATESH also asserted that Russian commanders have been forced to move troops between positions to compensate for shortages, leaving only fragmented units on the Kinburn Spit.

Ukraine once again struck the oil depot at Novorossiysk with reports saying 50 explosions ensued. The target was reportedly the oil depot at Grushovaya Balka outside the city.

Ukraine’s attack yesterday on the Crimean bridge — no, not THAT one, the one at Chongar on the isthmus — has effectively put the bridge at least temporarily out thanks to a new Behemoth drone.
According to the 1st Separate Assault Regiment, the strike also marked the first known operational use of the Behemoth drone, which was publicly presented in late May. The drone is described as a medium-range strike platform with a reported range of up to 300 kilometers.
The aircraft has a wingspan of 2.28 meters, a length of 2.2 meters, and can carry a combined warhead configuration consisting of a 40-kilogram fragmentation-explosive payload and a 35-kilogram thermobaric payload. Ukrainian developers say the drone can operate in autonomous, semi-autonomous, and FPV-controlled modes.
When it comes to Ukrainian drone dominance of Russian logistical routes, this Russian blogger says the worst is yet to come.
