The young man who died in a tragic drowning accident in the River Flesk yesterday has been named locally.
Pádraig O’Rahilly, believed to be from the Barraduff area, tragically died yesterday after getting into difficulty in the water.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident at 3:30pm.
Mr O’Rahilly, who was in his 20s, was removed from the water and later pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardaà say a post-mortem examination will take place in due course, and investigations are ongoing.
