A spokesperson for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews were alerted at 8.16am and arrived on scene at 8.21am. Two fire engines and the search and rescue team attended alongside North West Ambulance Service (NWAS), Merseyside Police, and the Air Ambulance Service.
“On arrival crews found a road traffic collision (RTC) involving two motorbikes, a car, and a van. Most casualties were conscious and breathing and in the care of NWAS, except for the van driver.
“The van was on its side, so fire crews worked to enable access for NWAS paramedics to treat the casualty and assist them out of the vehicle.
“All casualties were then conveyed to hospital for treatment. Fire crews worked to make the scene safe and are now preparing to leave the scene.”
