Dominic Calvert-Lewin is set to join Leeds United on a free transfer after his exit from Everton.

Leeds‘ business this summer has certainly been cause for optimism, though the lack of progress made on a striker front was a big concern.

The Whites look set to rectify that with the signing of Calvert-Lewin, who is expected to be announced as a Leeds player in the coming hours or days.

However, the Englishman will already be feeling somewhat unsettled after the latest update on AC Milan forward Noah Okafor.

After failing in their attempts to land Rodrigo Muniz, it seemed the Whites had settled for Calvert-Lewin on a free transfer, and given his experience in the top flight, it made sense.

The 28-year-old looks set to be given a chance to rekindle his career in the Premier League, or not, if the latest reports are to be accurate.

That is because Leeds are said to be keen on signing Okafor from Milan, according to The Athletic’s Beren Cross via X on Thursday.

Okafor played against Leeds for Milan in last week’s friendly.

With Joel Piroe also to contend with, the signing of Okafor would surely push both players down the pecking order, and depending on whether he was given assurances over gametime, it’s hard to see Calvert-Lewin being overly pleased.

Daniel Farke needs someone who can score goals

Providing Calvert-Lewin signs, Okafor would be the third striker to have completed a move to Leeds this summer, and none of them have a great record.

Sixty-eight combined appearances last seasonSeven goalsThree assists

The trio managed just seven goals between them for their respective sides last season.

Of course, Calvert-Lewin has shown in the past that he can score goals, but it will now be up to Daniel Farke to get him back to his best.

And if Okafor joins and leaps ahead of Calvert-Lewin in the pecking order, the former Everton man will surely not be best pleased.
