The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating a shooting in St. John’s.
In a statement, the RNC said officers responded to a commercial area of Ropewalk Lane just after 2:30 a.m. NT Thursday and found a 40-year-old man with serious injuries consistent with a shooting.
The RNC said the man remains in hospital, where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
No arrests have been made, according to police, but they believe there is no risk to public safety.
The RNC is seeking any information or video footage from the area of Ropewalk Lane, Empire Avenue and Columbus Drive between 1:30 a.m. and 3 a.m. NT.
The investigation is ongoing.
