Teenager Ticketed for Riding ATV in Wooded Area

A teenager has been ticketed after heading out in the woods on an ATV during the province’s ban on off-road vehicle use.

Someone phoned the RNC yesterday evening saying the ATV was being used in a wooded area in Pouch Cove – something which is currently not permitted in areas with a high fire hazard index.

The 16-year-old driver was ticketed under the Forestry Act and was also handed another fine for driving without insurance.

The ATV was seized.
