Temple Israel of West Palm Beach has a 103-year history as the first Jewish congregation in Palm Beach County. Today, it continues to be a center for Jewish life.
To keep up with its growing congregation, the temple has relocated to Australian Avenue in West Palm Beach.
On June 24, joined by nearly 100 congregants, elected officials, community leaders and supporters, the temple officially dedicated its new home with a ribbon-cutting and community-wide dedication ceremony.
“This is not simply a new building. It is a forward-looking model designed to strengthen Jewish engagement, foster collaboration, and serve as a lasting communal asset to meet the evolving needs of Jewish life in the Palm Beaches,” said Temple Israel Rabbi Ryan Daniels.
West Palm Beach Mayor Keith A. James and Palm Beach County Commissioner Gregg Weiss spoke during the event.
“For more than a century, Temple Israel has been a cornerstone of Jewish life in our community,” James said. “It has helped shape the spiritual and cultural fabric of our city for generations. This beautiful new home marks an exciting new chapter, and I know it will continue to be a place filled with worship, learning, fellowship and celebration for many years to come.”
