WANA (Jul 02) – Qatar’s Foreign Ministry said Qatari and Pakistani mediators have concluded separate talks with Iranian and U.S. delegations in Doha.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari said the discussions were part of efforts to follow up on issues related to a memorandum of understanding between the two sides and were based on the outcomes of a previous meeting in Switzerland.
Al-Ansari said the talks achieved “positive progress” on disputed issues and other matters related to the memorandum.
He added that the parties agreed to continue negotiations and that the next round of talks would be scheduled at the earliest possible opportunity.
Qatar has played an active mediating role between Iran and the United States in recent months, with Doha repeatedly hosting indirect contacts between the two sides.
