A man in his 20s suffered serious injuries after a car struck him in Cork.

The pedestrian was hit on the N25 at Dunsfort in Midleton on Thursday evening at around 11.05pm.

He was brought to Cork University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, which are believed to be non-life-threatening.

The road remains closed for a technical examination, with local diversions in place.

Gardaí continue to investigate and are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.

A spokesperson said: “Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were in the area of Dunsfort, Midleton, Co. Cork, on Thursday 14th August 2025 between 10.45pm and 11.15pm are asked to make it available to Gardaí.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Midleton Garda Station on (021) 462 1550, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.”
