BELGRADE, Serbia – Israel’s once-cozy relations with Europe have deteriorated throughout the controversial two-year war in Gaza, from public diplomatic snafus with the prime ministers of Italy, France and Spain to threats to nix the European Union association agreement. In Berlin and London – the capitals of Israel’s closest European allies – protestors regularly take to the streets en masse to voice their solidarity with Palestinians and their opposition to the governmental line.
