It has been said that staff did not want to serve the Vice President at the pub and would even refuse to show up at work if he was there.
Celebrity newsletter Popb**** said: “In classic ‘obnoxious American visits the Cotswolds’ form, JD Vance has been enjoying a delightful holiday in the village of Charlbury the past week.
“Well, as delightful as it can be – because many of the locals clearly want him absolutely nowhere near the place.
“Attempting to hide from protestors, the VP booked dinner at The Bull, the local gastropub. There was just one problem.

Attending as part of a pre-wedding dinner for Steve Jobs’ daughter Eve, sources said there was around 20 Secret Service members with her in the pub.
The posse arrived and left in a fleet of blacked-out Range Rovers and Mercedes vehicles as one resident told The Sun: “I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.
“There were men in black and blue suits, a guy in a leather jacket and more security outside doing frequent checks of the area.
“I was stood at the bar having a pint and there was a bald bloke sat on a stall on his own just drinking water all night.
“He was clearly part of the operation and sat quietly watching everyone around him with intent.”
In June, The Bull was crowned the best pub in the UK by industry leading publication Pub & Bar Magazine in its annual awards.
The team behind the Bull at Charlbury are Phil Winser and James Gummer, operating as Public House Group, who also run critically-acclaimed London pubs The Pelican in Notting Hill and The Hero in Maida Vale.
The Bull undertook a complete restoration of the 16th-century inn under the duo.
The pair, born and bred in the Cotswolds, are also behind the critically acclaimed The Pelican on All Saints Road in Notting Hill.
The pub, standing on the corner of Sheep Street, has a 50-cover dining room and 10 en-suite bedrooms.
