OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The Omaha Police Department released more details on a crash Thursday evening.
Officers responded to 114th Street and West Center Road, in the southwest Omaha area, at about 6:35 p.m. OPD said in an updated release that four people, including two children, were hospitalized in the incident.
Speeding and alcohol are suspected contributing factors, according to police.
An initial investigation found a red Subaru Impreza station wagon was turning onto 114th Street when it was struck by a black Chevrolet Malibu, tearing the Subaru in half.
A 10-year-old boy and a 5-year-old boy, both in the back seat of the Subaru, were taken to the hospital with CPR in progress, police said. Both drivers were transported to a separate hospital with life-threatening injuries.
