The UFC’s already-stacked featherweight and lightweight divisions have an exciting new addition.

Current Oktagon MMA featherweight and lightweight champion, Losene Keita, will relinquish both his crowns in an attempt to crossover into UFC’s Octagon and bring his career to the next level. Keita announced his new signing with UFC Friday afternoon via social media.

“Everyone wanted it… and I listened. Contract signed,” wrote Keita.

Keita, who turns 28 at the end of this year, has compiled a 16-1 pro record over the past six years with his only loss coming from a leg injury. The Oktagon MMA standout is on a five-fight win streak in which he has captured the vacant featherweight title, won the lightweight tournament, and the lightweight title. He’s been one of the best overall fighters competing outside of UFC for a few years now.

With Keita now part of the biggest fight promotion in the world and because he competes in two different weight classes, there are a ton of different matchups UFC matchmakers could look at for the newcomer. Either way, Keita is an exciting addition to the UFC roster and someone who can gain a lot of momentum really quick.
