Two former prime ministers who see themselves as fit to lead Israel again – Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid – are flying two main flags. The first flag is the fight against ultra-Orthodox draft dodging. The second is their commitment not to sit in government with Arab parties. The two thus hope to find the broadest common denominator among voters – the Israelis who love the country and fear, if not outright hate, its Arab citizens.
