There is a painful reality that many supporters of Israel refuse to admit. Israel is exceptionally good at surviving wars. It is remarkably good at innovation, intelligence gathering, military technology, medicine, agriculture, cybersecurity, and scientific research. Yet when it comes to convincing the world why it fights those wars in the first place, Israel is failing on a historic scale.
That failure is no longer a public relations problem.
It has become a strategic threat.
Time To Stand Up For Israel exists because too many people have accepted a version of history that bears little resemblance to reality. Millions sincerely believe Israel appeared out of nowhere, displaced an innocent population without cause, and has spent decades oppressing people for no reason other than power. Those narratives are repeated so often that they have become accepted as unquestionable truth in universities, newsrooms, political institutions, and across social media.
The tragedy is that much of this could have been challenged far more effectively.
Instead, Israel often behaves as though facts speak for themselves.
They do not.
Facts that remain hidden lose to emotions that are repeated every hour.
This is perhaps Israel’s greatest strategic blind spot.
For decades Israel invested billions in protecting its borders, developing missile defense systems, and maintaining one of the world’s most advanced intelligence services. Those investments have saved countless lives.
But somewhere along the way, the battle for historical truth was neglected.
The consequences are now impossible to ignore.
Young people across Europe and North America know the names of terrorist organizations but not the massacres that created Israel’s security doctrine.
They know slogans but not history.
They know hashtags but not archives.
They know accusations but rarely the evidence that contradicts them.
This is not entirely their fault.
Someone else filled the vacuum.
Every day thousands of videos, graphics, articles, documentaries, podcasts, and social media posts present a one sided version of the conflict. Much of it removes historical context completely. Wars begin on the day Israel responds rather than on the day terrorism begins. Ceasefires are remembered only when Israel allegedly violates them. The decades of suicide bombings, rocket attacks, aircraft hijackings, school massacres, hostage crises, and deliberate attacks on civilians slowly disappear from public memory.
History becomes shorter every year.
Memory becomes more selective.
Eventually the aggressor becomes the victim and the victim becomes the aggressor.
That transformation does not happen overnight.
It happens because one side tells its story relentlessly while the other assumes the truth will eventually prevail on its own.
That assumption is dangerously naive.
Truth requires advocates.
Israel possesses extraordinary historical material. Government archives. Military records. Diplomatic correspondence. Photographs. Audio recordings. Intelligence documents that have long since been declassified. Eyewitness testimony from survivors of terrorism. Video evidence collected over decades. Entire libraries documenting events that many people today have never even heard about.
Where are they?
Why are these resources not being transformed into modern documentaries, educational platforms, multilingual websites, interactive timelines, and freely accessible digital archives?
Why are independent researchers and volunteers often doing more to preserve Israel’s history than the institutions responsible for protecting it?
Even more frustrating is watching obvious propaganda spread without meaningful resistance.
There are websites that appear almost overnight, presenting carefully constructed narratives designed to damage Israel’s legitimacy. Some attract tens of millions of visitors within days. Their claims are shared across every major platform before anyone even begins responding.
By then it is already too late.
The first impression becomes the permanent impression.
Algorithms reward speed rather than accuracy.
Lies travel globally before fact checkers have opened their laptops.
This should not surprise anyone.
We live in an age where information itself has become a battlefield.
Israel understands cyber warfare better than almost any nation on Earth.
It understands artificial intelligence.
It understands digital infrastructure.
It understands complex intelligence operations.
So why does it repeatedly allow historical disinformation to spread almost uncontested?
That contradiction is difficult to understand.
A nation capable of intercepting missiles in midair should also be capable of intercepting viral falsehoods before they reach hundreds of millions of people.
Perhaps the problem is cultural.
Perhaps many officials still believe that history speaks for itself.
History never speaks.
People speak.
Documents speak only when someone opens them.
Photographs matter only when someone publishes them.
Evidence convinces only when someone presents it clearly and repeatedly.
Silence creates empty space.
Propaganda is always ready to occupy that space.
Supporting Israel should never mean pretending Israel makes no mistakes.
Every democracy makes mistakes.
Every government deserves criticism.
But there is a profound difference between criticizing policy and surrendering the historical narrative to those who openly reject Israel’s very existence.
That distinction has become dangerously blurred.
The world does not need less evidence.
It needs far more of it.
Not slogans.
Not polished marketing campaigns.
Not carefully rehearsed talking points.
Evidence.
Original documents.
Historical records.
Archived footage.
Survivor testimony.
Primary sources available for everyone to examine.
Let people read.
Let people compare.
Let people decide.
If Israel truly believes its history justifies its existence, then it should become the most transparent nation on Earth regarding that history.
Open the archives.
Digitize everything that can legally be released.
Translate it into every major language.
Make it impossible for future generations to claim they never saw the evidence.
Because history has a remarkable habit of correcting itself.
It may take years.
Sometimes it takes generations.
But facts have extraordinary endurance.
Propaganda burns brightly for a moment.
Truth burns steadily for centuries.
The question is whether Israel is willing to fight for that truth with the same determination it has shown in defending its borders.
Winning wars is essential.
Winning history is equally important.
Because nations are defended not only by soldiers.
They are also defended by memory.
