US warplanes reportedly struck near the city of Shadagan in southern Iran on Sunday, state TV reported.

Earlier on Sunday, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said that it had completed its eighth consecutive night of strikes against Iran and hit Iranian military coastal surveillance and air defense facilities.

It also targeted the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces that launched attacks against US service members in Jordan on July 17.

Later, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps Navy claimed on Sunday that two ships that were transiting the Strait of Hormuz had an “accident” while transiting and “unsafe route” in the waterway. Two other vessels reportedly abandoned plans to continue along the unsafe route, the IRGC added.

This is a developing story.
