Darting star Cameron Menzies has been taken off stage after falling ill while playing against Ross Smith.
The Scotsman was throwing in the fourth leg and appeared faint while setting up on the oche.
Menzies squatted on his knees as Smith and the officials checked on him, with Sky cameras panning away from the scenes on stage at Winter Gardens in Blackpool.
It was later confirmed that the Scotsman would not return for his contest against Smith.
Sky Sports’ Emma Paton provided an initial update, saying: “We are having a break in our first match because Cameron Menzies is unwell.
“All we know at the moment is that he is being seen to by St John’s Ambulance.
“He is with some medics at the moment. Hopefully he is ok and feeling better very shortly.”
The PDC released a statement confirming that Menzies will be unable to continue.

The statement read: “Cameron Menzies is unable to continue his Round Two clash after being taken unwell.
“Ross Smith progresses to the Quarter-Finals as a result.
“The next match between Gian van Veen and Wessel Nijman will start shortly.”
Master of ceremonies Lewis Jones announced to the crowd at the Winter Gardens that play would not continue for the first game of the night.

Paton provided another update before the second game, confirming Menzies is conscious, adding: “He is sat up and he is now talking to his partner.”
The PDC provided an additional update, reading: “Cameron experienced high blood pressure, which caused him to feel dizzy and subsequently faint.
“Following an assessment by the on-site medical team, Cameron was deemed well enough to return to his accommodation.
“We wish Cameron all the best and look forward to seeing him back in action soon.”

Van Veen and Nijman took to the stage just over half an hour after Menzies was taken off stage.
The Scotsman produced an incredible performance in his previous match against world No2 Luke Humphries, winning 10-7 with a 170 finish.
Speaking after his win against Humphries, Menzies described it as the “biggest win” of his career.
“No one gave me hope. I didn’t give myself hope, but I finally won a game at the Winter Gardens.
“No matter what I do in my life, I will take this to my grave. Thank you so much.
“Luke Humphries is a great guy, a great player. At 7-3, I was just trying not to think of that finishing line, but the nerves kicked in.
“To beat Humphries, I know he will be disappointed. He gave me a lot of stress at doubles, but that’s my biggest win,” he told Sky Sports.
