The M4 in Kildare has fully re-opened to traffic following a multi-vehicle collision this afternoon.

Emergency services were at the scene, with gardaí urging motorists to consider alternative routes if starting their journey.

The closure led to delays on the N4/M4 westbound approaching Junction 8 (Kilcock) due to the collision.
