Demonstrations took place near the Britannia Hotel in Canary Wharf, London, and The Bell Hotel in Epping, Essex.
For the protest in the capital, the Metropolitan Police said it “imposed conditions using Section 14 of the Public Order Act to prevent serious disruption at the protests”.
The force later said there had been six arrests. There has been no further update.Â
While Essex Police said the protest outside The Bell Hotel was “peaceful”.
It said no arrests were made and no advance policing orders were in place ahead of the demonstration.
The force said in a statement: “Our proportionate policing plan ensured all resident communities were kept safe throughout the protest.”
Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick visited the protest, saying it was “great” to be with “peaceful, patriotic protesters”.
In a post on X, the senior Conservative MP wrote: “Starmer should get out of Westminster, listen to people’s concerns, and act to keep us safe.”
