CORALVILLE, Iowa (KCRG) – Human remains discovered in Coralville in early July have been identified as a man reported missing since 2023, according to the Johnson County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Using dental records, the medical examiner’s office were able to identify the remains as Grant Leonard, a man reported missing in Coralville since October 2023.
Coralville Police shared their findings in a statement on Monday.
Police said, “While we are grateful to be able to provide Grant’s family with answers, this is not the outcome anyone had hoped for. We respectfully ask the community and members of the media to provide Grant’s family with privacy and compassion as they process this tragic news.”
The investigation is ongoing and no other information has been made available at this time.
