As an Indian scholar focusing on antisemitism, I was honored to attend a conference at the University of Haifa last month. But the welcome I received at Ben-Gurion Airport will make me think twice before visiting Israel again
Given the prevailing geopolitical situation, many of my friends and family advised me against traveling to Israel. But I decided to go, as it was an opportunity to present my research at the Haifa 2026 Contemporary Antisemitism Conference at the University of Haifa. The three-day program was perhaps the largest academic gathering in Israel this year, attracting 347 speakers.
