Bernardo Silva excited to work with Jose Mourinho

Bernardo Silva has begun life at Real Madrid after joining up with his new teammates following the World Cup, and the former Manchester City captain is excited to work with compatriot Jose Mourinho.

“I can’t wait to start working and learning from Jose Mourinho,” Silva said. “I’m very happy because he’s a coach who means a lot to Portuguese football.

Mateo Kovacic feels Manchester City backing despite transfer links

Manchester City midfielder Mateo Kovacic has been linked with a return to Serie A this summer, though the player himself has felt the backing of the club and new manager Enzo Maresca and seems keen to remain.

“I didn’t feel the question marks from them,” Kovacic said of his talks with Manchester City. “I spoke with them, it was that they count on me, which was important for me to hear that from them.

“And now, like I said, for the players it’s always on you to show your best version, because if you are playing good, the manager will put you first.”
