Leeds United are close to signing AC Milan forward Noah Okafor in a deal for around £17m, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Leeds are preparing for a season back in the Premier League after winning the Championship last season. The owners have heavily backed manager Daniel Farke in the summer transfer window so far, but their business doesn’t appear to be over as they aim to build a squad capable of avoiding relegation.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin was the latest player to be confirmed as a new addition for the Yorkshire club, with the towering centre-forward arriving at Elland Road to bolster their attacking options. The English striker could be in line to make his debut against his former club on Monday night, with Everton travelling to Leeds for their opening Premier League game of the campaign.

Leeds Close to Signing AC Milan’s Noah Okafor

Okafor

Reporting on X, Romano has confirmed that Leeds are now close to signing Okafor from AC Milan. The Yorkshire club have submitted a bid of around £17m, with a contract that could keep him at Elland Road until 2030. The final green light is now up to Okafor, with manager Daniel Farke pushing to complete a deal…

“Leeds United are close to signing Noah Okafor from AC Milan! Understand proposal worth over €20m has been submitted today, contract until June 2029 plus option until 2030. Final green light up to Okafor then deal can be done, with #LUFC coach Daniel Farke pushing a lot.”

Okafor, described as ‘electric’ by analyst Ben Mattinson, won’t be available to play against Everton tonight if Leeds do complete a deal, but it’s an exciting addition for the season ahead. The Swiss international can play in a host of different positions across the forward line, so his versatility could make him a useful option for Farke.

The news of a new addition for Leeds could be a huge boost for the crowd heading to Elland Road tonight, even if the Yorkshire club are yet to announce his signing. The signings Leeds have made so far in the window are exciting, but the supporters will undoubtedly be hoping for more as they aim to stay in the Premier League by the end of the 2025/2026 campaign.
