Corrib Oil said the first restaurant in their partnership with the global restaurant brand Wendy’s will open in Mahon Point Shopping Centre in Cork in October.
The expansion will create 50 jobs that are currently open for recruitment. Corrib Oil was announced last year as Wendy’s franchise partner in Ireland. Recruitment is underway for team members in full and part time roles
Founded in 1987, Corrib Oil currently operates 40 convenience stores with forecourts and 20 fuel depots across 17 counties. The partnership with Wendy’s is a key part of its broader expansion strategy in Ireland, which aims to more than double its national footprint to 100 locations by 2030.
The company plans to open ten Wendy’s locations across the country this year as both standalone Wendy’s restaurants and Wendy’s locations at select Corrib Oil service stations.
“Opening the first Wendy’s restaurant in Mahon Point marks a major milestone in our partnership with Wendy’s,” said Michael Dalton, Managing Director of Corrib Brands “We’re thrilled to bring Wendy’s to Cork.”
Michael Clarke, Managing Director – Europe, The Wendy’s Company: “Ireland is a great market for long-term growth, and we’re proud to see our brand come to life here through our partnership with Corrib Oil. Their deep roots in the community and commitment to operational excellence make them an ideal partner to deliver the Wendy’s ‘globally great, locally even better’ experience.”
Justin Young, Centre Director of Mahon Point Shopping Centre said: “This opening is great news for Cork — not only does it create 50 new local jobs, but it also gives people the opportunity to enjoy the craveable, high-quality food Wendy’s is famous for.”
