Here are Thursday’s latest updates:
■ Iran has made a concerted diplomatic push with Gulf states, warning them explicitly that Tehran will hit their oil, power and water plants unless they convince U.S. President Donald Trump to end U.S. strikes on Iran and instead seek a negotiated end to the war.
■ Israeli security forces besieged the Palestinian Qalandiyah Refugee Camp for the second consecutive day, with residents saying ambulances and media crews were barred from entering, while people attempting to move around the camp were detained for questioning.
■ A group of senior Democrats called on the Trump administration to restore U.S. sanctions against extremist Israeli settlers in the West Bank and launch independent investigations into the deaths of nine American citizens killed in the West Bank since 2022, The Guardian reported.
■ The foreign ministers of Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia issued a statement expressing the “strongest condemnation and denunciation” of Israel’s repeated cease-fire “violations” in the Gaza Strip, noting the targeting of health facilities, civilian infrastructure and the loss of civilian lives.
■ The Board of Peace has issued a construction contract for a military base to house Moroccan troops in the Gaza Strip, The Guardian reported, citing a source familiar with the matter.
■ The IDF said it struck Hezbollah infrastructure, including weapon storage facilities and a command center, in several areas across southern Lebanon in response to the incident on Wednesday in which two Israeli reservists were killed.
■ At least 30 Yemeni government troops were killed in Houthi attacks on military camps in the provinces of Marib and Hadramout, government sources said. The Houthis said they launched missile and drone attacks on “Saudi military deployments” in the provinces, killing or wounding hundreds of Saudi-aligned fighters and destroying military camps, weapons depots and vehicles.
