The man killed in a road collision near Tarbert in north Kerry on Friday has been named as Sean Connolly, aged 45 from Ballinlina, Reens, Ardagh, County Limerick.

Originally a native of County Sligo, the father of two died at the scene after a collision involving a motorcycle and a truck on the N69 between Tarbert and Listowel at approximately 10am on Friday.

Mr Connolly worked for Carrons Haulage in Ardagh where the staff described him as ‘an amazing young man’. After family and loved ones, Sean’s next great passion in life was motorcycles.

Many tributes from friends and family were paid to the deceased on RIP.ie. Fond recollections of Sean, as well as sympathy for his family, were also expressed.

“He was not only a cherished friend to me, but a light in my life during some of my darkest moments. His kindness, his laughter, and the way he always knew how to make me smile are gifts I’ll carry with me forever,” one person wrote.

Mr Connolly will repose at O’Grady’s Funeral Home, Ballingarry, this Tuesday evening from 4pm to 7pm.

Gardaí and units of the Listowel Fire Service and the National Ambulance Service attended the scene of Friday’s tragic incident that occurred near the Tieraclea area of north Kerry.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 9:45 am and 10:15 am that morning are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
