Wild video shows intense storms topple car on Ohio interstate
COLUMBUS, Ohio —
Intense storms are moving across Ohio Tuesday, bringing strong winds and downpours.
Storms in central Ohio prompted multiple severe weather alerts, including tornado warnings for parts of the region.
Traffic cameras captured the moment the storm moved through, crossing Interstate 71 in Columbus.
Ohio Department of Transportation Press Secretary Matt Bruning shared the video to social media.
The traffic camera on I-71 at Weber Road showed the terrifying moments when intense winds took over, toppling one car and causing others to slow and swerve on the interstate.
Part of the video appears to show a car get thrown upside down by either intense winds or debris.
Other cars can be seen stopped as the storm passed through.
It’s unclear if what passed the highway was a tornado. The National Weather Service will likely assess videos and damage before releasing initial findings.
