A person was injured when a swerving stolen vehicle crashed into three parked vehicles at a Winnipeg construction site over the weekend.
Officers near McPhillips Street and Pacific Avenue saw a vehicle speed past them, driving through stop signs, around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, a Winnipeg police news release said Monday.
The vehicle then swerved through a construction site on Alexander Avenue near King Edward Street, crashing into three parked vehicles that were all left undriveable.Â
A person who was in one of the three vehicles was treated for minor injuries at the site of the crash.Â
Police took a suspect into custody and later learned there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest.Â
The vehicle involved in the crash had been reported stolen.
Several edged weapons were found during the arrest, police said.
A 33-year-old man faces charges of flight while pursued by a peace officer, dangerous operation of a conveyance, four counts of possession of a weapon, operating a vehicle while prohibited by order under the Criminal Code, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and multiple counts of failing to comply with the condition of a release order.
