MUSCATINE, Iowa (KWQC) – Police are asking Muscatine residents to shelter in place after an officer was shot Friday.
The suspect, identified as Mark Lee Jackson, 59, of Des Moines, was still at large as of 12:45 a.m. on Saturday.
He is described as 5 feet and 10 inches tall, weighing 145 pounds with blue eyes and thinning gray hair.
He is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, do not approach him. Dial 911 immediately. Anyone with tips can also call the Muscatine Police Major Crimes Unit at 563-263-9922.

According to the Muscatine Police Department, a Muscatine County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop Jackson’s vehicle at 5:12 p.m. in the area of Benham Ave and Nebraska Street. Jackson did not stop the vehicle and continued to drive erratically.
Police said he was driving at a high rate of speed through neighborhoods.
Police reported Jackson crashed and then fled on foot.
At 5:27 p.m., Jackson was seen by police in the 1200 block of Grandview.
During the foot pursuit, police said Jackson shot a gun the the officers and struck a Muscatine Police Officer.
Police said the officer is stable, but his condition is unknown.
At 10:30 p.m., an ISP aircraft was seen arriving on scene.
Muscatine County Emergency Management said in a post on Facebook that the scene was active in the south end of town near the Rosebowl.
Muscatine Mayor Brad Bark told KWQC, “At this point, I would say, please pray for our officer.”
Police ask the public to avoid the area and let responders do their job.
An armored vehicle was seen heading to the scene.
