Seán Connolly, originally from Kingside, Cloonmull, Drumcliffe, Co Sligo and Ardagh, Co Limerick, was aged in his forties.
The father of two died in a crash involving a truck and a motorcycle on the N69 in Co Kerry.
Gardaí said that his motorcycle collided with a truck at Tieraclea, Tarbert at around 10 o’clock in the morning.
Tributes have been paid to Mr Connolly and his family and friends on RIP.ie
He has been remembered as an ‘amazing young man’ and a great friend and colleague.
The employee of Carrons Haulage, Ardagh, was held in the highest regard and described as a gentleman.
A mourner said: “I am privileged to have known Seán, a true and genuine friend. Rest in peace Seán, you will be sadly missed.”
Mr Connolly’s death notice reads that he is deeply regretted by his loving children, Caoimhe and Brendan, and their mother Kate (Fitzgerald), his heartbroken parents Deirdre (O’Kelly) and Brendan, brothers David and Peter, sister-in-law Suzanne and Sorcha, niece Croía, uncles Derrick (Connolly), Joe, Seán, Noel, Mike, Francis and the late Kevin and Kieran (O’Kelly), aunts Marian Delaney, Irene Dunne, Anne Power, Maura Griffin, Ann Cambridge, Brid Russell and Niamh O’Regan, uncles-in-law, aunts-in-law, cousins, relatives, extended family, the Fitzgerald family (Shanagolden), neighbours and many friends.

He is reposing at O’Grady’s Funeral Home, Ballingarry, Co.Limerick, eircode (V94TW13) this Tuesday evening August 19th, from 4pm to 7pm. Arriving on Wednesday at The Church Of The Immaculate Conception, Ballingarry for 11am Requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in St.Mary’s Cemetery, Ballingarry.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Tieraclea area between 9.45am and 10.15am on Friday morning are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
