LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A woman and infant were taken to the hospital and a man was arrested after an abduction in east Lincoln, according to the Lincoln Police Department.
Lincoln police were called to the area of 48th and Y streets after multiple callers reported seeing a man force a woman into a vehicle while she yelled for help.
Witnesses reported seeing blood on the woman’s face and a child inside the vehicle.
Officers found the vehicle near 48th Street and Pioneers Boulevard and followed it after the suspect, 26-year-old Steven Schroeder of Lincoln, drove away from officers. The pursuit ended when Schroeder crashed into another car near 56th Street and Old Cheney Road.

Schroeder was taken into custody.
The driver of the vehicle struck by the suspect reported minor injuries. The woman was taken to a local hospital for injuries sustained during the assault and crash. The infant was also taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
Schroeder was arrested and taken to the Lancaster County Jail for false imprisonment, domestic assault, child abuse, willful reckless driving, and fleeing to avoid arrest.
