Naslen K. Gafoor, widely regarded as the next big thing in Mollywood, continues to shine as Malayalam cinema’s latest youth icon. From his debut in Thanneer Mathan Dinangal to the blockbuster success of Premalu, and more recently in the action-packed Alappuzha Gymkhana, where he appeared in a rugged, chiselled avatar, the young actor has captured the imagination of audiences across Kerala.
Alongside Naslen, a new generation of talent has begun to shape the industry’s future. Names such as Sandeep Pradeep, Mathew Thomas, Anagha Ravi and Sangeeth Prathap have been drawing attention for their promising performances. With so many rising stars, comparisons are inevitable, often leading fans to side with their favourites. At times, this has spilled over into heated exchanges on social media, fuelling gossip and speculation.
Sandeep, best known for Falimy, recently dismissed rumours of a rivalry with Naslen, instead highlighting their camaraderie, particularly after working together in Khalid Rahman’s Alappuzha Gymkhana.
Now, in a candid revelation, talking to a private news channel, Naslen has broken his silence on the wave of rumours surrounding his supposed exit from the upcoming Asif Ali starrer Tiki Taka. Social media posts had gone viral alleging that he was dropped from the project after demanding a higher fee.
Recalling the incident, Naslen explained:
“People even said I was dropped from Tiki Taka. Just two days before joining the team, I came across these reports. They claimed I demanded more money than Asif Ali, and that’s why I was removed. Such stories are written and circulated without any basis,” Naslen explained.
Meanwhile, the makers of Tiki Taka have already released a teaser and the latest poster featuring Naslen has only intensified the anticipation surrounding the film.
Naslen’s remarks underline the growing problem of rumour-mongering in the digital age. With unverified news spreading rapidly online, his statement serves as a reminder of the need for caution, accountability and fact-checking in the age of instant social media discourse.
