2 aircrafts collide in Pennsylvania; Gov. Shapiro says state police involved
CARLISLE, Pa. —
Governor Josh Shapiro said he is on his way to Carlisle, Pennsylvania, following an aircraft crash involving Pennsylvania State Police.
Pennsylvania State Police and other officials are expected to hold a press conference on the incident at 10:30 p.m. This press conference will be streamed in the playfinder above once live.
The FAA said in a post that a Cessna 150 airplane and a Bell 407 helicopter collided in midair near Carlisle around 7:50 p.m.
Two people were aboard the helicopter at the time of the crash.
The number of people on board the Cessna remains unknown.
It is unclear if any injuries have been reported.
Shapiro issued a statement on Facebook, saying, “I’ve been briefed on the aircraft crash involving PA State Police this evening in Carlisle, and I am heading there now. Lori and I are praying hard, and we ask all of our fellow Pennsylvanians to join us.”
