Two people were killed in a head-on car collision in Mays Landing on Saturday morning, the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office said.
The crash happened in the area of Route 50 and Third Street just before 8 a.m. on Saturday, prosecutors said.
According to the Hamilton Township Police Department, a stolen car was at fault in the crash, and one adult and three juveniles have been charged in connection to the incident.
A source told NBC10 that the vehicle involved had been stolen in Longport. Hamilton Twp Police pursued the vehicle for a time but ended the pursuit before the crash occurred.
Video posted to a public social media page that we have confirmed is part of the police investigation show a head-on collision between a Chevrolet Sedan and a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon. Both cars spun off the roadway after the collision.
The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office said that the Attorney General’s Office of Public Integrity and Accountability is investigating the crash alongside the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
The identities of the two people killed have not been released at this time. The identities of the four charged have also not yet been released.
