MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Memphis, Light, Gas and Water is working to restore power after thunderstorms knocked out power to over 100,000 customers.
At its peak, there were approximately 130,000 customers without power during Saturday’s storm. You can check the status of repairs on the MLGW Outage Map.
“We are still doing assessment to understand the extent of damage, but from what we know now, our customers should expect this to be a multi-day recovery, with the majority of customers expected to be restored by Thursday evening based on early assessments,” MLGW said on Saturday.

Storms knock out power for over 100k MLGW customers(MLGW)
“Our immediate priorities are restoring power to hospitals, water treatment, and sewer facilities. Following that we will prioritize circuit restorations that will have the largest number of customers impacted,” MLGW said in a press release.
“Tonight, we have the MLGW team and tree trimming crews already at work assessing damage and restoring power where they can. They will be joined by additional MLGW staff and by more than 30 contractor crews who are headed our way. We are actively working to bring in even more crews,” MLGW said.
The City of Germantown notified residents that the following intersections were experiencing power problems:

The City of Olive Branch said that they are responded to multiple reports of downed trees and power lines across the city. The city reminds people to treat every power line like it’s live. Public works crews have been deployed to assist with removing downed trees.
