The Israeli army carried out a fresh incursion into southern Syria’s Quneitra province Sunday, detaining a shepherd, Syrian media reported.
The Alikhbariah television channel said Israeli forces advanced west of the town of Al-Rafid in the southern Quneitra countryside and detained the shepherd.
The area has witnessed repeated Israeli incursions, with the channel reporting another advance west of Al-Rafid on Friday.
For months, southern Syria has witnessed recurring Israeli incursions and attacks, including raids, searches, arrests and the establishment of military checkpoints.
The activities intensified after the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime in December 2024, when Israel declared the collapse of the 1974 disengagement agreement and seized control of the Syrian buffer zone.
