Earlier today, we covered claims from Italy which stated Leeds United have reached a total agreement with AC Milan to sign Noah Okafor for €21m including bonuses.

Journalist Orazio Accomando took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to back it up and then share the latest.

He says Leeds and Milan are sorting out the bureaucratic issues, the last details that need sorting.

Gazzetta dello Sport and Milan News give an insight into what convinced the Serie A side to accept the Whites’ proposal.

The forward impressed during the pre-season and Massimiliano Allegri and Milan sporting director Igli Tare wanted him to stay. Therefore, the Rossoneri took a few hours to assess Leeds’ proposal also because of Rafael Leão’s latest injury setback.

Leão’s injury doesn’t seem to be serious and despite this, Gazzetta say there were some reservations over letting Okafor leave. These doubts disappeared after Leeds made an offer of €21m including bonuses, which has been accepted by the Italian club.

The newspaper say the 25-year-old’s sale to the Premier League newcomers allows Milan to make a capital gain, without mentioning the fee they invested to sign him in 2023.

Milan News claims Okafor’s chances of staying at Milan increased significantly after he impressed during pre-season. His situation changed again after Daniel Farke’s side made a ‘rich proposal’ and the San Siro club have accepted it.

Gazzetta dello Sport took to X to report that Okafor is ‘heading to England’ to complete a move to Elland Road.
