Islam Times – The Israeli regime has installed three new roadblocks around three Palestinian homes in the Ras al-Ain area of Qusra in the occupied West Bank, further restricting residents’ movement after weeks of siege by Israeli settlers.The new gates were erected on Wednesday around the hilltop homes, effectively cutting the area off from surrounding land and limiting access to roads connecting Qusra with nearby areas.
Three Palestinian homes in Ras al-Ain have been under siege by Israeli settlers since Aug. 9, while Israeli forces have declared the area a closed military zone.
Residents say the Israeli regime’s new barriers have reinforced the isolation of the families instead of ending the siege.
One of the gates was installed near the home of Loui Ridi, a Palestinian-American who returned to Qusra after the siege began to defend his property.
Israeli soldiers have remained deployed near his home, while residents say movement in and out of the area remains severely restricted.
The roadblocks have also affected access to Palestinian farmland.
Abdel Hakim Wadi, whose land is located near one of the new gates, said he has been unable to reach his nearly one-hectare plot since the siege began.
The land contains more than 100 olive trees as well as almond and fig trees, along with a water well that Wadi says Israeli settlers have taken over.
The new barriers are part of broader movement restrictions imposed by the Israeli regime across the occupied West Bank, where road gates and other obstacles have increasingly restricted Palestinian access between villages and agricultural areas.
The developments in Qusra have drawn international condemnation, while residents say the continued restrictions are leaving Palestinian families trapped in their homes and threatening their access to their own land.
