Leeds manager Daniel Farke is ”carefully optimistic” the club can make one or two more additions before the transfer window closes, with the German keen to further strengthen his squad.
Leeds have already spent £86.7 million on five players this summer, including a club-record £40 million on goalkeeper James Trafford, and have taken four points from their opening two Premier League matches.
Fiorentina are interested in Wilfried Gnonto, but Leeds are only prepared to sanction the winger’s departure if they can secure a replacement.
Speaking after Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Brentford, Farke said: ”I’m carefully optimistic.
”I know everyone behind the scenes works very hard to give us the best possible squad. We also have to work with limited resources, we want to work sustainably and won’t do any crazy things.
”It’s not that easy to bring in quality that really helps us, but, of course, one or two additions would be beneficial to us.”
