Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the weekend condemned violence by a “handful of rioters” in the occupied West Bank after Israeli settlers attacked Palestinians in the villages of Qusra and Jalud, following nearly three weeks of tensions in the area.
Israeli military and police said dozens of rioters entered Qusra, threw stones and barricaded themselves inside a Palestinian home while residents were inside. Security forces separated the groups and confiscated vehicles, but there were no reports of arrests.
In nearby Jalud, masked settlers reportedly attacked Palestinian Aida Ahmed Abdullah and an NBC News team interviewing her family on Saturday. Abdullah said settlers had driven the family from their home. Palestinian workers were also pepper-sprayed in Qusra.
